posted Feb 12, 2013, 5:32 AM by sullivanp@serrahs.org
Once again, students at Serra are being invited to participate in the annual “Pasta Tales” national writing competition sponsored by the Olive Garden Restaurant chain. Although Mister S is making this a required writing assignment for his Grammar Essay freshmen, any Student is welcome to submit an entry. This year’s essay prompt is "How would you help end hunger in your community?" and the compositions should be between 50 and 250 words in length.

As stated in the Olive Garden press release, “The grand-prize winner of the contest will receive a three-day family trip to New York City that includes dinner at the Olive Garden in Times Square and a $2,500 savings bond. In addition, Olive Garden will provide a $5,000 grant to bring the winner's essay to life by supporting hunger initiatives in his or her local community. The winners in each of the 12 grade categories will be awarded a $500 savings bond and a family dinner at their local Olive Garden restaurant.”

Entrants need to visit the Olive Garden website (www.olivegarden.com) to download an application form which must be attached to their submissions. Any questions? See Mister S in Room 232.
