Eagles Football Starts Off Season With a Win Against Mapletown

posted Aug 28, 2017, 7:18 AM by Sandra Barbieri
The Serra Catholic Eagles started the 2017 football season off with a big win (30-8) at Mapletown.  The Eagles took a 27-0 lead into halftime with scores from Khalil Smith, Bre-Shaun Brown, and two from Evan Honick.  Smith led the way with 157 yards on 16 carries.  JaQuae Jackson led the way in receiving with 4 catches for 73 yards.  Defensively the Eagles were stout all night, only giving up a score on a kick-off return.  Mark Banner and Jamere Williams led the way, but the entire defense was fantastic.

This Friday, the Eagles open conference play at home against Brentwood.  We are looking for a huge crown.  See you on the Friday, September 1st at 7:00 pm.  Go Eagles!
