Lady Eagles Advance to the WPIAL Semi-Finals After Win Against Seton LaSalle

For​ ​the​ ​first​ ​time​ ​in​ ​program​ ​history,​ ​the​ ​Serra​ ​Lady​ ​Eagle​ ​volleyball​ ​team​ ​advance​ ​to​ ​the​ ​state​ ​playoffs​ ​after​ ​defeating​ ​Seton LaSalle​ ​in​ ​the​ ​WPIAL​ ​quarterfinals​ ​3-2.​ The game was played at Norwin. ​ ​In​ ​what​ ​was​ ​a​ ​total​ ​team​ ​effort,​ ​Shannon​ ​Sullivan​ ​had​ ​11​ ​kills​ ​and​ ​a​ ​391​ ​hitting percentage,​ ​Julia​ ​Piccolino​ ​had​ ​30​ ​kills​ ​and​ ​17​ ​digs,​ ​Morgan​ ​Schoy​ ​had​ ​16​ ​digs,​ ​and​ ​Jenna​ ​Gralewski​ ​and​ ​Olivia​ ​D'Andrea added​ ​10​ ​digs​ ​each,​ ​while​ ​Olivia​ ​also​ ​added​ ​40​ ​assists.​ ​Freshman​ ​Brianna​ ​Pasternak​ ​also​ ​contributed​ ​to​ ​the​ ​offense​ ​with​ ​20 assists.​ ​Vanessa​ ​Tom​ ​added​ ​9​ ​kills​ ​and​ ​8​ ​digs,​ ​and​ ​Stephanie​ ​Schulte​ ​had​ ​5​ ​blocks.​ ​ ​

The​ ​eagles​ ​will​ ​now​ ​play​ ​Freeport​ ​in the​ ​WPIAL​ ​semifinals​ ​on​ ​Thursday​ ​night.​ ​Great​ ​job​ ​ladies!
