Serra Eagles Take Away A Win Against South Allegheny

Another home game, another dramatic win for the Serra Catholic Eagles, this time beating rival South Allegheny 26-18 for a homecoming victory. The Eagles stormed out to a 19-0 lead in the first half behind touchdowns from JaQuae Jackson and Bre'Shaun Brown, and 2 field goals from Brandon Borek. South Allegheny responded with a long drive to end the first half, resulting in a touchdown, and a halftime score of 19-6. Following the halftime homecoming festivities, South Allegheny begun to come back on the Eagles, producing two scores and closing the deficit to 1, with a score of 19-18 heading in to the fourth quarter. The teams saw back and forth action for most of the fourth quarter until Evan Honick broke through with a 49 yard run, setting the Eagles up with 1st and goal from the Gladiator 7. It took Khalil Smith two carries to bully his way into the end zone, putting the Eagles up 26-18. The Eagle Defense held strong on the games final drive, forcing a turnover on downs to ice the game away. The team now travels to Cumberland, Maryland this Saturday to take on Fort Hill High School in an out of conference match-up. Thanks to all the fans that attended Friday night's game!
