Serra Football Big Win Against Carlynton Secures A Playoff Spot

The​ ​Serra​ ​Catholic​ ​Eagles​ ​football​ ​team​ ​won​ ​42-6​ ​against​ ​conference​ ​rival​ ​Carlynton​ ​on​ ​Friday​ ​night​ ​at​ ​the​ ​Nest​ ​to​ ​lock​ ​up​ ​a playoff​ ​berth​ ​for​ ​the​ ​second​ ​consecutive​ ​year.​ ​The​ ​Eagles​ ​got​ ​the​ ​scoring​ ​started​ ​with​ ​a​ ​20​ ​yard​ ​touchdown​ ​from​ ​Evan Honick​ ​to​ ​JaQuae​ ​Jackson.​ ​Following​ ​a​ ​slow​ ​1st​ ​quarter,​ ​Matt​ ​Ulishney​ ​got​ ​the​ ​momentum​ ​going​ ​in​ ​the​ ​Eagles​ ​favor​ ​with​ ​a 68​ ​yard​ ​kickoff​ ​return​ ​for​ ​a​ ​touchdown,​ ​and​ ​the​ ​Eagles​ ​closed​ ​out​ ​the​ ​first​ ​half​ ​with​ ​another​ ​touchdown,​ ​this​ ​time​ ​from Honick​ ​to​ ​Malik​ ​Edmundson​ ​to​ ​bring​ ​the​ ​score​ ​to​ ​21-6.​ ​The​ ​Eagles​ ​opened​ ​the​ ​second​ ​half​ ​scoring​ ​3​ ​touchdowns​ ​in​ ​4​ ​plays, 2​ ​from​ ​Khalil​ ​Smith,​ ​who​ ​finished​ ​with​ ​102​ ​rushing​ ​yards,​ ​and​ ​one​ ​from​ ​Bre'Shaun​ ​Brown.​ ​ ​The​ ​Eagles​ ​return​ ​to​ ​action Friday​ ​night​ ​at​ ​the​ ​nest​ ​against​ ​Steel​ ​Valley,​ ​with​ ​first​ ​place​ ​in​ ​the​ ​Three​ ​Rivers​ ​Conference​ ​on​ ​the​ ​line.​ ​
