Serra Football Shuts Out Carlynton

posted Oct 17, 2016, 6:00 AM by Sandra Barbieri
What a night it was for your Serra Catholic Eagles on Friday at Carlynton as they clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2009 with their 12-0 victory.   Khalil Smith led the way with 230 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns, one on a run and another on a pass from Evan Honick. The entire defense stymied the Carlynton offense the entire night as they posted their second straight shutout. The defense has only allowed six total points in the last three games. With the win, the Eagles are headed to the postseason, with two games left to play in the regular season.

The Eagles travel to Steel Valley this Friday for a conference clash and finish the regular season next Friday, Oct. 28th night against East Allegheny with that game also being Senior Rec. night.  Come out and support our Eagles and our seniors!

The two remaining games are pivotal for the Eagles as they are trying to bump up their playoff resume and receive a higher seed.
