Serra Softball beats California Trojans

The Serra Catholic Eagles Softball Team defeated the California Trojans 14-7 yesterday afternoon.  It was a day of firsts as the Eagles won the first game of their young campaign.  Lizzie Fite netted the first win of her high school career striking out four while only giving up four earned runs.  Maddie Carr picked up her first high school hit followed up by her first career home run.  Nina Grandey also picked up her first high school hit followed by her first and second career doubles.  The Eagles offense was led by Simone Jahn who went 3 for 5 with a triple, two rbi's and three runs scored.  Liz Quattrone had a triple with two rbi's and two runs scored.  Elise Winkler smacked a double down the left field line and Ashley Howard and Theresa Terlecki both had two hits a piece.  The Eagles are back in action this afternoon as they travel to Carlynton.
