Your Serra Catholic Softball Team defeated the Bishop Canevin Crusaders 13 to 8 yesterday afternoon, improving their record to 8 and 0  and 4 and 0 in section.

The Eagles offense was led by Gia Husnick who went three for four with a triple and three RBIs, and Simone Jahn who went four for five with three RBIs. Other major contributors to the offense were Maria Lamonde who went three for four with an RBI and Lauren Kolenik who went three for five with an RBI.  Elise Winkler picked up three RBIs and Sam Andrakanic and Ashley Howard picked up an RBI a piece.  A key shoestring catch by Micayla Kelly and stellar defensive plays by Peyton Jaworski helped Sam Andrakanic to secure her eighth victory of the season.  Sammy struck out nine while only walking two.  In the process Sam  went over 250 strikeouts in her Serra Catholic career making her the all time strike out leader in Serra history. Congratulations Sam!

The Eagles are back in action at this afternoon at home against Canevin.  Game time is 4:00pm.  Come on out and show your support for your Serra Catholic Eagles softball team.
