As stated in the Serra Catholic handbook, Dress Up Days dress code is as follows:
During Dress Up days (Picture Day, Honor’s night, Homecoming/Prom court, etc.) students are still expected to dress neatly and professionally. Students are encouraged to wear dress pants along with a nice shirt or blouse. Students are not allowed to “dress down” on these days with hoodies, jeans, or athletic wear.
Shirts: All shirts must be at a length in which they can be tucked in, so midriffs are always fully covered. Shirts must also have sleeves. Spaghetti straps, thin straps, or tank tops are prohibited. Shirts cannot be sheer, see through, skintight, revealing, or contain any inappropriate graphics. For girls, shirts must have a neckline that comes no lower than the collarbone and cleavage must not be visible at any time. Boys are encouraged, but not required, to wear a tie.
Pants: Students may not wear jeans, pajama pants, sweatpants, or other pants that are skintight, distressed, ripped, or “skinny”. Yoga pants, jeggings, cargo pants, or leggings are never permitted. Shorts are also prohibited, unless we are under summer dress code, or have administrative approval.
Dresses/skirts: If girls opt to wear a dress, it should be no shorter than an inch above the knee. If a dress contains slits, the slit must terminate no shorter than an inch above the knee. Dresses must not be skintight, sheer, sleeveless, ripped, contain cut-outs, or revealing in any way. The only permissible skirts that ladies can wear are maxi skirts.
Shoes: Any shoe is allowed if they adhere to the rules under the shoe section of the dress code.
