Summer Dress Code Week of August 26
Due to high temperatures this week, we will be utilizing our summer dress code.
You can read the dress code, which can be found on the link below. A few highlights are listed below.
1) Directly from the handbook, “Under the discretion of administration, students can wear Navy Blue or Khaki Bermuda length shorts. Boys are permitted to wear cargo shorts if they are the appropriate color. Short shorts, denim, athletic shorts, or yoga pants are NOT permitted. Polos must still be worn with an optional plain white t-shirt underneath.”
2) Shoes will be all white or all black tennis shoes, or appropriate dress shoes.
3) Your tattoos will be covered.
4) Facial hair will be shaved (boys) and there will be no inappropriate headbands (ladies) - see the dress code.
August Mailing - Paperwork Due by 8/30/24
Reminder that the August mailing paperwork is due no later than Friday, August 30, 2024. Please note that a few forms are two-sided and need to be signed by both the parent/guardian and the student.
24-25 Course Registration Fee
Please remember that the $100 course registration fee is due at this time for all sophomore, junior, and senior students. You should have received a letter in the mail with your child’s course selections and a note mentioning this fee. You are welcome to pay this fee with either cash or a check made payable to Serra Catholic High School. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Cassie Fedor at [email protected].
Reduced Lunch Program
Serra Catholic does not participate in the Federal Free Lunch Program, but our cafeteria does offer a reduced lunch rate to students who qualify for free and reduced lunches. The calculation is done automatically in your FACTS application and all names of qualifying students will be sent to the cafeteria this week.
If you have any questions about the reduced lunch program, or you did not qualify for reduced lunches at the time you filled out your application, but feel you may qualify now, please contact Ms. Cassie Fedor at [email protected]. She will send you the proper paperwork that will need to be filled out in order to be considered for qualification.
School Picture Day is September 5
This year’s School Picture Day is fast approaching - Thursday, September 5, 2024! This year, we are using Josten’s as our school picture photographer. An ordering link and more information on how to order pictures will be sent after Picture Day.
Please refer to the “Dress Up Day” section of the handbook for appropriate Picture Day attire. Note: due to Josten’s use of a green screen for photos - please do not wear green on picture day.
Cross Country Team Looking for Players
The Serra Cross Country Team is looking for 2 or more girls and 3 or more boys to complete their roster. No previous running experience is needed. Practices are from 3-4 pm on Monday’s, Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s but coach Brian will work with you if there are scheduling conflicts. Get in the best shape of your life, challenge yourself!
